Progress Program
This is a program where the preclear had been progressing up the Grade Chart, but now they are not. Some stumbling block(s) have arisen and a program is needed to get the person back on track. Stumbling blocks in this case could stem from past auditing actions and perhaps also life situations. Originally these were called Repair Programs. In 1970, Hubbard renamed them Progress Programs. Example:
- Astra was progressing well on her auditing, having lots of wins. Then an old college friend Kari came to town for a visit. Astra’s past with that friend included getting into a little trouble, partying a lot, and that sort of thing. Astra’s been moving forward in life, but Kari has not. Kari gives Astra grief for not wanting to party, and tells Astra she is boring and too responsible to be any fun. Astra struggles internally with this situation and Kari’s visit is happening while Astra is mid-auditing. Astra is really too distracted by this Kari situation to get the most from her auditing. After Kari leaves, Astra tells her auditor what happened. The auditor works with Astra to determine where things with Kari started to interfere and writes a Progress Program to a) address any upsets Astra feels with Kari b) go back and pick up any auditing processes that weren’t properly completed.
